Dear Dedicated and Concerned Parents of Christopher Farms Elementary:
INFORMATION REGARDING HEAD LICE
Sometimes parents are afraid to inform the school if their child has lice because they don’t want to be stigmatized, but only by working together can we solve the problem. Lice are a fact of life where children gather. Lice have been a part of human life for millions of years. Lice are not a hygiene problem. They love clean hair! (They are called the “Clean Hair Bug”!!!)
We need everyone’s help to prevent the spread of lice and properly treat those infected.
A few simple TIPS to help ease your mind and help RID those pesky “bugs”….
Please think “Lice Away”!
Look at your child’s head and every family member for signs of lice or nits (eggs).
Inform the school nurse if you have any family member with Lice or nits.
Consider everyone your child comes in contact with at school and home and communicate with them.
Educate yourself and your family about lice and the spread of lice.
Ask for help if you need it. I can be a resource and there are “experienced”
parents who are willing to help you. Just check with the school nurse.
Wishing it would go away won’t work!
Attitude makes a difference: remain calm and have a no-blame attitude.
You can make a difference in the prevention and treatment of lice. |
